• Purpose: The unit is dedicated to innovation in surgical education, focusing on training skilled surgeons and leaders to elevate standards in Lebanon and the region.
   

• Significance: It serves as a key development in the Department of Surgery, enhancing the training capabilities of AUBMC, which is recognized as the largest academic surgical department in Lebanon.
   

• Naming: The unit is named in honor of Prof. Ghattas Khoury, a respected professor of General and Vascular Surgery at AUBMC, former Minister of Culture, and former president of the Lebanese Order of Physicians.
